How much cover do you get?The NZMII Health Professional insurance policy will pay up to $1,500,000 per annum, subject to a limit of $1,000,000 per incident.What does the policy do?The NZMII Health Professional policy is a legally binding insurance contract which provides allied health professionals with comprehensive insurance protection.What does the policy cover?1. Medical Malpractice IndemnityCovers any costs or damages awarded against you in malpractice/negligence cases.2. Legal and Disciplinary DefenceCovers legal costs and expenses from any action or investigation brought against you as a registered healthcare professional.3. Legal AssistanceFor patient complaints, police statements, reports for the coroner or ACC and notications to registration boards or other government entities.4. Loss of EarningsUp to $1,000 per day (or subject to a maximum of $15,000) where you have to attend any action or enquiry brought against youand where you have suffered loss of earnings as a result.What else does your policy provide?1. Telehealth consults for patients living in NZ. 2. Psychological assistance up to six sessions per period of insurance.3. Wellbeing support through our partner Clearhead.4. Locum/volunteer work and Good Samaritan acts in NZ. 5. Volunteer/charity work in the Pacic Islands at the discretion of the CEO.6. Parental leave hold on your policy to ensure continuous cover while you are busy with your new baby.7. Tail/run-off cover included at no additional cost for a further six years if you retire or move overseas.8.
